I'm finding that "subtle" doesn't do well with the scanner. I had to re-do the outline and really pencil in the colors.

Thanks for stopping by and the nice compliment. It looks like you are having fun and that is the most important part. Keep going. As far as a scanner maybe adjust the dpi quality and the bightness /contrast feature to pick up on the sublte lines or use a digi camera, so you wont have to re-render. Just a thought :)
