This time with my daughter Syndel who's 13 going 14. I didn't expect the nude model. Thanks to life drawing books I had taken home and she was curious to see. She wasn't so shocked.
Gerald, the instructor was teaching us a technique in which you keep going back and forth from a particular distance so that you can capture the cast "as is". Tiring. I'm not sure I'd do that style of drawing again, to be honest.
First off thanx for the blog comments, sorry it took so long, blogspot isn't forwarding comments to my email for some reason. I see a lot of promise in what you're doing so keep at it, be patient, and it will all come to you.
I had such a fun time going through your posts. Really? You only started drawing and painting this year? I am very impressed. Your portraits of your daughter are beautiful!
I wanted to thank you for your sweet message to me earlier this summer. It brought me hope and strength and courage, and for that I am very grateful. Thank you for your friendship.
Totally new. It all started with a sketchbook I got in January 2009, drew the likeness of my daughter (to my surprise), got inspired by cartoonist Lynda Barry, then this blog was created in May 2009.
I must confess that getting visits from wonderful stranger artists out there is a thrill.
Everyone is welcome and thanks for visiting!
Looks great!
