I will keep the blog fresh enough without burning myself out.
I joined Illustration Friday and this is my entry: Bowling shoes. (Don't zoom. Darn scanner scans through the layers.) Gazillion times they're worn.

Made the 21 days of posting challenge!

Day 1 - Inspired

Day 21 - Expired

Going to the beach means...

doing art!
I still need to learn how to make waves...
Check out my blogfriend's http://baptist-cabap.blogspot.com/
for some powerful and heavenly waves.

Keith Batcheller

Keith's awesome version!

Griffith Park

Got to see Keith Batcheller demo oil painting. Inspired.

I'm sure him seeing me trip and fall, dignity and all, was quite memorable.

One more day and I'm done with the challenge of posting 21 days consecutively. Oops, missed deadline by 4 minutes. No one's paying attention? We're cool.

Little Old Ako

Arlo Ramz sent me a link for "draw yourself when you're old"
I'll say this is me at 85. Like my mom, young at heart, full of life, and funny as hell.

Watercolored while savoring Ska's Sublime which was simply... sublime! Wear sunglasses. (The alliteration is killing me!)

I don't care for Hollywood but for the sake of recognizability, I needed to use the famous couple Brad and Angelina.

I really like using one line and seeing how the silhouette appears.

Hope y'all like!

Watercolor 2

Notice how I made the pictures small? I'm still shy about my watercolor experiments. So much still to learn.

I didn't post an illustration last night, what with arriving late from Hollywood Bowl and all the excitement of the blog award.

I hope this didn't break the 21-day challenge. But I'm glad to post two pictures to make up for things.

A Tribute to My Father

Armando Tuason Molina

Happy Father's Day!

Friday, June 19, 2009

My daughter's beagle named Bagel.

Next time I'll draw him in action... gnawing on a blanket, leaning out the window, or rubbing his back on the carpet silly.

Thanks Vanessa Brandley Newton

Got this idea from Vanessa who recommended Peter Reynolds' website:http://www.peterhreynolds.com/
He is the illustrator of the children's book "The Dot". This practice allows me to play with watercolor and not have this overwhelming feeling of making everything on the page appear visually aesthetic.

No zooming required

Played with watercolor... Not so pleased with this medium. Seems easy, but very tricky in a messy way. Sigh. (Head bowed, just like in the illustration). If I were to do this over, I would have left her lower back green instead of red.

Cartoon version of...

Vanessa Minnillo! Exotic Filipina beauty.

Michael's is Heaven...

Sale at Michael's! Look at all the fun stuff I got... Weird how it felt better than buying shoes.

Spiraling my pen into objects!

Sphere of life

Find the core shadow, cast shadow, and the reflective light. These are the key to making a realistic looking drawing. Things I learned from my one day three hour drawing class. I'll be taking more for sure. Exciting!

Practicing on...

drawing teeth! Little intimidated drawing them so I found this smiling face. Hope it brings a smile to you!

Thursday, June 11, 2009

I hope it has the likeness of...

Scarlett Johansson somehow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed drawing some shade around her face.

Played around... more roses and a sunflower, criss-cross here and there, contour shaping. Fun stuff!

Guy drawing

Here's a quick one. Must try drawing male subjects. Just noticed his ears are uneven. Oh, well...

Megan Fox

To Megan's fans, who can do her justice? But I do agree she's hot!

Sunday, June 7, 2009

I will take the challenge of posting per day for 21 days!
